Crítica do Livro

Em primeiro lugar quero agradecer à Gabriela por me ter concedido a primeira obra para dar uma opinião e parabéns por ter consegido este feito que é o seu primeiro livro. 

Começando pela escrita da autora, para além de ser extremamente precisa e coerente, conseguiu atrair a minha atenção ao longo da história. Já à algum tempo que não lia um livro tão bem escrito.

Por outro lado, existiram algumas falhas na história, começando pela personagem principal. A Giselle é muito teimosa, demasiado, precisa de um abanão para entender que as coisas não podem ser sempre da maneira que ela entende. 
Achei que seria benéfico a sáida de casa dela para trabalhar no reino, mesmo com algumas dificuldades, e (muitos) problemas se fosse descoberta, mas assim teria melhores condições para o avô, e ela nunca compreendeu bem essa situação, na minha opinião. 

O trio que existiu na história entre a Giselle, o Eli e o Cristian, foi estranho, para mim claro. Gosto de romances, mas apenas com duas pessoas. Mesmo assim nunca deixei de ter curiosidade, e estava sempre a pensar como é que isto iria acabar.

SPOILER ALERT!

A descoberta dos caçadores de bruxas deixou-me estupefacta, adorei, e não estava mesmo nada à espera, fiquei literalmente a pensar no assunto durante algum tempo.
Umas das situações que também me deixou de rastos foi o beijo do Rylan, nunca iria pensar que ele tinha sentimentos por ela.
O final deixou-me feliz, pois deu para entender que a história teria continuação e mesmo depois de tudo, mal posso esperar!

Review

First of all, I want to thank Gabriela for giving me the first work to give an opinion and congratulations on having achieved this achievement, which is her first book.

Beginning with the author's writing, in addition to being extremely precise and coherent, it has managed to draw my attention throughout history. I've not read such a well-written book in a very long time.

On the other hand, there were some flaws in the story, beginning with the main character. Giselle is very stubborn, too stubborn, she needs to understand that things can not always be the way she wants them to be. I thought it would be beneficial for her to leave home to work in the kingdom, even with some difficulties, and (many) problems if she were discovered, but then she would have better conditions for her grandfather, and she never quite understood that situation, in my opinion.

The trio that existed in the story between Giselle, Eli and Cristian, was indeed, strange, to me. I like romances, but only with two people. I was so curious, and I was always thinking how this would end.

SPOILER ALERT!

The discovery of the witch hunters amazed me, I loved it, and I was not really expecting anything, I was literally thinking about it for a while.
One of the situations that also left me behind was Rylan's kiss, I would never think he had feelings for her.
The ending made me happy because I could understand that the story would continue.

Broken - Despedaçada (Tânia Dias) - Book Review

Olá leitores! 

Assumir o seu papel como líder não estava nos planos de Alexia White, mas quando a sua mãe perde a vida num terrível assalto ao castelo, ela vê-se sem opções.
Num mundo onde os fracos se distinguem dos fortes pelos dons que possuem, Alexia está no topo da lista e precisa de aprender a lidar com os seus dons se pretende recuperar Starnyz das garras do traidor. Ian Bealfire, um homem que exala arrogância e prepotência por todos os poros, parece disposto a ocupar o lugar de seu Mestre.
Há quem diga que a jovem está destinada a salvar o mundo mas despedaçada pelas perdas que sofreu. Assombrada pelas memórias do passado, será mesmo capaz de salvar o mundo, quando nem a si parece ser capaz salvar?

Crítica do Livro 

Wow... Este livro deixou-me de queixo caído, no bom sentido, já há algum tempo que não lia livros de autores portugueses, e fiquei completamente rendida à história da Alexia.Fui transportada para outro mundo desconhecido e permaneci até ao fim. Não larguei até há bem pouco tempo e fiquei com um vazio enorme, mas contente, pois, a história vai ter continuação brevemente e não poderia estar mais feliz.

O tema não é novo, mas a autora conseguiu modificar as personagens e a história em si e fazer do livro uma aventura para não esquecer.

No início senti-me um pouco perdida nos eventos que estavam a acontecer, mas fui conseguindo captar tudo. A Alexia é simplesmente fantástica, uma personagem muito bem elaborada, só tenho um pequeno problema com ela, achar que sabe tudo, a sério, irrita-me às vezes, mas ela vai aprendendo que por vezes tem que ceder, sentar e aprender. Ela evolui muito durante o livro e acho isso esplêndido. Agora, a parte fulcral que me deixou em risos e lágrimas ao mesmo tempo, Ian e Alexia… Já sentia a química entre eles desde o início, e fiquei completamente apaixonada pelos dois juntos, e de coração partido com o final…
O único ponto negativo do livro, na minha opinião, foram os erros ortográficos, um aspeto a melhorar sem dúvida.

No final da review podem encontrar uma playlist feita por mim, inicialmente ia fazer para o livro, mas devido à minha conexão com o Ian e a Alexia, fiz para as minhas personagens favoritas. Espero que gostem.

Review 

Wow .. This book left me jaw dropped, in a good way, for some time I have not read books by Portuguese authors, and I was completely surrendered to the story of Alexia.
I was transported to another unknown world and remained until the end. I did not leave until a very short time and I was left with a huge emptiness, but glad, because the story will continue briefly and could not be happier. 
The theme is not new, but the author managed to modify the characters and the story itself and make the book an adventure not to forget.
At first, I felt a little lost in the events that were happening, but I managed to capture everything. Alexia is just fantastic, a very well-made character, I just have a little problem with her, thinking that she knows everything, seriously, annoys me sometimes, but she learns that sometimes she has to give in, sit down and learn. She evolves a lot during the book, and I find it astonishing.
Now the core part that left me in laughs and tears at the same time, Ian and Alexia .. I had already felt the chemistry between them from the beginning, and I was completely in love with the two together, and heartbroken with the end.
The only negative point of the book, in my opinion, were misspellings, an aspect to improve without a doubt.

At the end of the review you can find a playlist I made initially for the book, but due to my connection with Ian and Alexia, I did it for my favorite characters. Hope you like it.

O Inferno de Gabriel (Sylvain Reynard) - Book Review

O enigmático e sedutor professor Gabriel Emerson é um reputado especialista na obra de Dante. Mas à noite dedica-se a uma vida de prazer sem limites, não hesitando em usar a sua beleza de cortar a respiração para manipular as mulheres a satisfazerem cada capricho seu.
Talvez por isso se sinta torturado pelo passado e consumido pela crença de que está para lá de qualquer salvação.
Quando a jovem Julia Mitchell se inscreve como sua aluna de pós-graduação, Gabriel não consegue ficar indiferente. Ela é linda, deliciosamente inocente, um diamante em bruto para ele polir. Sempre que Julia se apercebe do olhar de predador dele, espera sentir receio, mas o que verdadeiramente sente é uma estranha luxúria que a assusta. Desejando desesperadamente possuí-la, Gabriel põe em perigo não só a sua carreira, como ameaça desenterrar segredos de um passado que preferia manter oculto.

Critica do Livro 

Eu já tinha lido estre livro anteriormente, mas decidi reler para poder dar uma review. 
Então é o seguinte, este livro deixou-me chateada, tinha tudo para ser interessante e inovador e no final de contas consegue copiar muitas passagens do livro Cinquenta Sombras de Grey. Não vou dar spoiler, não vai ser o caso, mas esta obra chega a ser cringe ao ponto que tenho de parar para repensar a leitura. Li até ao fim, e posso dizer que no geral não é mau livro, mas o autor poderia ter aproveitado o tema principal do livro, que neste caso é Beatriz e Dante, e ter dado outro rumo. 

A escrita do autor em si não é a melhor, e talvez seja este o principal motivo pela qual eu não tenha apreciado tanto o livro. Mas fiquei curiosa para saber o que vai acontecer na série que vai ser adaptada brevemente e vai sair na Passionflix. 

Outras passagens que me deixaram a pensar.. 

O professor e a Julia tiveram um momento quando ela era adolescente e quando ela aparece nas aulas dele, ele não tem qualquer reação perante ela, mas passado 1/2 semanas, para não dizer dias, ela passa a ser o grande amor da vida dele. Não faz sentido. E ele adora-a ao ponto de enfraquecer a personagem que é Julia, independente, e deixa-a parecer uma rapariga indefesa e que precisa contastemente de carinho. Para além de que o autor tentar retratar no livro que Julia tem um segredo trágico que irá mudar a visão dele para com ela, e quando ela acaba por contar eu não achei que tivesse sido um grande acontecimento para deixar tanta expectativa. 

Espero que os livros seguintes suscitem mais interesse.

Book Review 

I had read it before, but I decided to reread it so I could give a review.

So here's what this book got me upset about, it had everything to be interesting and groundbreaking, and in the end, it manages to copy many passages from the book Fifty Shades of Gray. I will not spoil it, it will not be the case, but this book is so cringing to the point that I have to stop to rethink the reading. I read it to the end, and I can say that in general, it is not a bad book, but the author could have taken advantage of the main theme of the book, which in this case is Beatriz and Dante, and have taken another turn.

The author's writing itself is not the best, and perhaps this is the main reason why I have not enjoyed the book so much. But I was curious to know what will happen in the series that will be adapted briefly and will be on Passionflix.

Other passages that have left me thinking.

The teacher and Julia had a moment when she was a teenager and when she shows up in his classes, he does not have any reaction to her, but after 1/2 weeks, not to say days, she becomes the great love of his life. Does not make sense to me. And he adores her to the point of weakening the character who is Julia, independent, and leaves her looking like a defenseless girl who needs constant affection. The author tries show that in the book Julia has a tragic secret that will change his view of her, and when she ends up telling me I did not think it was a great event to leave so much expectation.

I hope the following books will arouse more interest.

Sierra Burgess is a Loser - Movie Review

Mais um clássico da Netflix. 
Primeiro vem uma pequena sinopse para perceberem melhor o filme.

Sinopse: 

Sierra é uma adolescente inteligente, mas que não se encaixa exatamente nos padrões de beleza impostos no ensino médio. Quando um incidente de confusão de identidade resulta em um romance inexperado na sua vida, ela é obrigada a fazer amizade com a rapariga mais popular da escola para poder ficar com o rapaz que gosta.

Crítica: 

Em primeiro lugar vi este filme sem ter qualquer tipo de espectativas, e por sinal vai ser uma review bastante positiva.
A história em si é um pouco cliche, não posso mentir. Rapariga ignorada e gozada por quase todas as pessoas que andam com ela na escola, ela começa algo que pensa que vai acabar bem e claro, não acaba, e termina com um final feliz.. Pois é, o tipico filme cliché.
Mas, para além disto, a mensagem que passam para além do ecrã é muito mais do que todo o resto. É retratada a vida real de uma adolescente, os desgostos, as amizades que acabam por se tornar tóxicas e a falta de auto-estima. Um filme para ver naquela sábado à tarde com os amigos/amigas.

Sierra Burgess is a Loser in a modern rom-com retelling of the Cyrano de Bergerac story set in high school. The story centers on Sierra, an intelligent teen who does not fall into the shallow definition of high school pretty but, in a case of mistaken identity that results in unexpected romance, must team with the popular girl in order to win her crush. 

Review:

Firstly, I watched the movie without any expectations and for the record, it is going to be a very positive review.
The story itself is a little cliché, I can not lie. Ignored and made fun of by almost all the people who go to school, she starts something that she thinks it will end well and of course, it ends badly. In the final minute, the movie ends with a happy ending .. Yeah, the typical cliche movie.
But besides that, the message that goes beyond the screen is much more than everything else. It portrays the real life of a teenager, heartbreaks, friendships that end up becoming toxic and the lack of self-esteem. A movie for a Saturday night with friends.

One of Us is Lying( Karen Mcmanus ) - Book Review

Simon Kelleher é o criador do Má-Língua, uma nova aplicação que está a encurralar a elite de Bayview High, revelando pormenores da vida privada dos alunos da escola. Mas o caso torna-se mais grave quando Simon e quatro colegas ficam fechados de castigo numa sala, e ele morre diante das suas vítimas. Os quatro que se tornam suspeitos imediatos do homicídio, são: 

A melhor aluna da escola, Bronwyn que nunca viola uma regra e quer entrar em Yale. 

A estrela da equipa de basebol de Bayview, Cooper. 
Nate, o criminoso, que está em liberdade condicional por vender droga.
A menina bonita, Addy, que parece ter a vida perfeita ao lado do namorado perfeito.

Que segredos queriam esconder para eliminar Simon? Quem será o culpado?

Critica do Livro:
Este livro foi capaz de me roubar horas e horas de leitura. É simplesmente fantástico, cativante e promissor pois só mesmo nas últimas páginas é que podemos ter a certeza de qual será o fim. Uma aventura desde o ínicio, com pistas e dúvidas que nunca terminam.
De todas as personagens mencionadas a minha preferida é a Brownwyn, porque para além de amiga, ela é aventureira e nunca desistiu de procurar o culpado mesmo correndo riscos.
Esta história vai agarrar leitores de todas as idades.

Review: 

This book was able to steal me hours and hours of reading. It is simply fantastic, captivating and promising because it is only in the last pages that we can be sure of the end. An adventure from the beginning, with clues and doubts that never end.

Of all the characters mentioned, my favorite is Brownwyn, because besides being a friend, she is adventurous and never gave up looking for the person that was the guilty one, even taking risks.

Book Club - Movie Review

Em primeiro lugar quero dizer que este filme ainda não saiu em Portugal, e só estará nos cinemas dia 13 de Setembro. Têm spoilers e por isso ficam já avisados! 

Vamos falar do nome do filme por favor, parece tudo bem em inglês, se fosse traduzido para português seria O Clube do Livro? Mas alguém decidiu que ficaria muito melhor se mudassem para "Do Jeito Que Elas Querem". 

Prosseguido com a review do filme. Deixo aqui a sinopse para poderem perceber melhor a história. 

Sinopse: 

Nos arredores da Califórnia, quatro amigas de longa data estão na casa dos 60 anos e decidem ler no clube do livro mensal o romance "Cinquenta Tons de Cinza". Isso faz com que a vida dessas mulheres bem-sucedidas e inteligentes mude completamente.

Crítica: 

Comecei a ver o filme sem ter a minima ideia do que se tratava. O filme em si é interessante, fala de 4 senhoras que lêm juntas desde à 30 anos, pela qual todos os meses elas lêm um livro diferente. O filme perdeu o interesse para mim quando uma das leitoras decidiu trazer o livro " Cinquenta Sombras de Grey" (não que tenha algo contra o livro, muito pelo contrário) para lerem e quando acabam elas acham que têm de mudar a vida delas devido à história do mesmo, mostrando assim a fragilidade que não existia antes de o terem lido. 3 das senhoras estão sem marido e uma delas têm falta de intimidade com ele, então decidem começar a mudar a mentalidade e a procurar um homem só porque acham que ele vai ser o próximo christian grey e a mulher que não sente intimidade com o marido começa a fazer pressão com ele para que ele mude.

Basicamente o que penso é, elas estavam bem antes e não sentiam necesidade de mudar e no final do filme podemos constatar que elas acabam por ficar com homens mas a serem elas próprias.

First of all, I want to say that this film has not yet come out in Portugal, and will only be in theaters on September 13th. This post has spoilers and so be warned!

Let's talk about the name of the movie please, it seems all right in English, if it were translated into Portuguese would it be The Book Club? But someone decided that it would be much better if they moved to "The Way They Want".

Followed by the movie review. I leave here the synopsis so that you can better understand the story.

Synopsis: 

Outside California, four long-time friends are in their 60s and decide to read in the monthly book club the novel "Fifty Shades of Gray." This makes the lives of these successful and intelligent women to change completely.

Review:

I began to see the film without having the slightest idea of what it was. The film itself is interesting, it tells a story of 4 ladies who have been together since the age of 30, whereby each month they read a different book. The film lost interest for me when one of the readers decided to bring the book "Fifty Shades of Grey" (not that there is something against the book, quite the contrary) to read and when they finish reading they think they have to change their lives due to its history, thus showing the fragility that did not exist before they had read the book. 3 of the ladies don't have a husband and one of them has lack of intimacy with him, so they decide to start changing their mentality and looking for a man just because they think he will be the next Christian Grey and the woman who does not feel intimacy with her husband begins to put pressure on him so he can change. 


Basically what I think is, they were well before and did not feel the need to change and at the end of the movie we can see that they end up staying with men and being themselves. 

Evermore ( Alyson Noel ) - Review

Olá leitores!

Eu sei que tenho estado um pouco ausente, mas prometo que é desta que volto com novidades! 

Ever é uma rapariga super normal, até que um dia ela e a sua familia sofrem um acidente de carro. Ever não morre, mas sente algo estranho porque consegue ouvir o que as pessoas pensam e ver cores à volta de cada uma, neste caso as suas auras. Depois do acidente ela começa a ser uma rapariga que não gosta de fazer amigos novos, e os únicos que tem que são o Miles e a Haven. Até que conhece o Damen. Ele é um rapaz que não se dá a conhecer a ninguém, mas tem algo estranho sobre ele que a Ever percebe logo desde o inicio. Durante o livro eles vão-se conhecendo e passando por várias aventuras, mas ela acha que tudo o que está a acontecer é demasiado bom para ser verdade. E é aí que as coisas começam a ficar mais sérias e estranhas ao mesmo tempo. Ela irá ter de escolher entre dois mundos, o ser uma rapariga normal e deixar de ouvir o que as pessoas pensam ou ficar com Damen para toda a eternidade com o seu dom. 

Critica do Livro 

O livro que vos apresento chama-se Evermore da Alyson Noel, mais propriamente da saga Immortals. Verdade seja dita, eu já o li algumas vezes, mas ainda não tinha a colecção completa, e agora que tenho decidi fazer uma review em condições. Começo desde já por dizer que o livro é super interessante, podemos ver isso logo nas primeiras páginas onde tem a cor da auras e o significado de cada uma delas. O livro é pequeno e tem uma fácil leitura, e o texto é transparente desde o inicio.

Eu recomendo o livro para quem gosta de romance, mas sobretudo sobrenatural, claro.

Vermelho: Energia, força, raiva, sexualidade, paixão, medo, ego.

Laranja: Autocontrole, ambição, coragem, consideração, falta de vontade, apático.

Amarelo: Otimista, feliz, intelectual, amigável, indeciso, facilmente liderado.

Verde: Compaixão, pacífico, curativo, enganoso, ciumento.

Azul: Espiritual, leal, criativo, sensível, amável, temperamental.

Violeta: Altamente espiritual, sabedoria, intuição.

Indigo: Benevolência, altamente intuitiva, buscadora.

Rosa: Amor, sinceridade, amizade.

Cinza: Depressão, tristeza, exaustão, baixa energia, ceticismo.

Castanho: Ganância, auto-envolvimento, opinativo.

Preto: Falta de energia, doença, morte iminente.

Branco: Equilíbrio perfeito.

I know I've been a little absent, but I promise I'll come back with news!

Ever is a super normal girl, when someday her and her family have a car accident. Ever does not die, but feels something strange because she can hear what people think and see colors around each person, in this case their auras. After the accident, she begins to be a girl who does not like to make new friends, and the only ones that she has are Miles and Haven.

Until she meets Damen. He is a boy who does not make himself known to anyone, but there is something strange about him that Ever realizes right from the beginning. During the book, they get to know each other and go through various adventures, but she thinks that everything that's happening is too good to be true. And that's when things start to get more serious and strange at the same time. She will have to choose between two worlds, to be a normal girl and stop listening to what people think or staying with Damen for all eternity with her gift.

Book Review

The book that I present to you is called Evermore of the Alyson Noel, more properly the Immortals saga. True said, I've read it a few times, but I didn't have the full collection, and now that I have I decided to make a review. The beginning of the book is very interesting, we can see it in the first pages where it has the color of the auras and the meaning of each one. The book is small and easy to read, and the text is transparent from the beginning.

I recommend the book for those who like romance, but mostly supernatural, of course.

Red: Energy, strength, anger, sexuality, passion, fear, ego.

Orange: Self-control, ambition, courage, thoughtfulness, lack of will, apathetic.

After ( Anna Todd ) - Review

Olá leitores!

Decidi comprar, finalmente, o livro de Anna Todd, After.

Já o tinha lido anteriormente na aplicação watpadd, mas a minha vontade de ter o livro em mão era gigante, para além de que teria mais detalhes na história.

Para quem nunca ouviu falar no livro, a história resume-se a uma rapariga chamada Tessa, muito organizada e trabalhadora que vai para a universidade viver numa residência e depara-se com uma colega de quarto que é o oposto dela, a Steph, rockeira, com piercings e tatuagens, com este cenário ela encontra-se numa situação um pouco estranha. Tessa nunca foi de sair à noite e muito menos com pessoas como aquelas, como ela diz. Ela tem um namorado à cerca de dois anos, chamado Noah. A história começa a desenrolar-se quando Tessa é convidada para uma festa da faculdade e conhece Hardin, a partir desse dia, tudo muda. Ele é uma pessoa fria, mas quando a conhece, faz de tudo para a conquistar e mostrar que lá no fundo ele consegue ser uma boa pessoa para ela. Hardin tem um grande segredo que poderá acabar com tudo o que ele tem construído com a rapariga dos sonhos dele.

Crítica do Livro

After é o primeiro da série After e eu devorei-o completamente, tem algumas imperfeições mas nem isso fez com que eu o largasse. No geral é um muito bom livro para quem gosta de romance e livros mais juvenis. Tem alguns pontos fortes, como a escrita, por ser de fácil leitura, tonar-se muito mais leve, e a história em si, faz com que não queiramos largar o livro por horas e horas. Infelizmente tem alguns pontos fracos, a autora tem alguns erros de escrita e repete algumas vezes as mesmas palavras, mas ela própria diz que ainda está a aprender, e como foi o primeiro livro, não liguei muito a esses detalhes. Agora vou partir para o segundo livro, After We Collided, e brevemente darei a minha opinião, até lá deixo-vos com este livro maravilhoso e espero que desfrutem.

After a while I decided to finally buy Anna Todd’s book, After.

The truth is that I have read it earlier in watpadd , but my desire to have the book in my hands was huge, apart from having more details in the story.

For anyone who has never heard of the book, the story is about a girl named Tessa, a very organized and studious girls who goes to university to live in the campus and comes across a roommate who is the opposite of her, Steph, rocker, with piercings and tattoos, with this scenario she finds herself in a somewhat strange situation, Tessa never went out at night let alone with people like that, as she says. She has a boyfriend for about two years, named Noah. The story begins to unfold when Tessa is invited to a college party and meets Hardin, from that day, everything changes. He is a cold person, but when he meets her, he does everything to conquer Tessa and show that deep down inside he can be a good person to her. Hardin has a big secret that could end all he’s built with the girl of his dreams.

Book Review

After is the first of the After series and I devoured it completely, there are some imperfections but not even that made me give up. Overall it’s a very good book for anyone who likes novels and more youthful books. It has some positive aspects, as the writing, it’s easy to read, with that being said, it becomes much lighter, and the story itself, makes us not want to leave the book for hours. Unfortunately she has some weaknesses, the author has some writing errors and repeats the same words sometimes, but she says she is still learning, and it’s the first book so I did not care much about those details. Now I’m going to read the second book, After We Collided, and I’ll briefly give you my opinion, until I leave you with this wonderful book and hope you enjoy it.
